What is Endodontic Bleaching?

Internal bleaching is a dental procedure that is performed by an endodontist, a dental specialist who is trained to treat the inner parts of the teeth. The procedure is typically done on a tooth that has previously had a root canal, and has become discolored over time.

How Internal Bleaching Is Performed?

During the internal bleaching procedure, the endodontist creates a small opening in the top portion of the discolored tooth, and places a special bleaching agent inside. The opening is then sealed with a temporary filling material. The bleach is left inside the tooth for a few days or weeks, and the process may be repeated until the desired level of whitening is achieved.

Is Internal Bleaching Safe?

Overall, internal bleaching is a safe and effective procedure that can help to improve the appearance of discolored teeth that have had root canals. It is important to consult with an endodontist to determine if this procedure is appropriate for your specific dental needs.
